What is a Room Parent?
A Room Parent is a volunteer family member of a child in the classroom.
It does not have to be a parent. It can be a guardian of a child.
A Room Parent is a liaison between teacher and classroom families.
Room Parents are there to support their homeroom teacher and the classroom. If they cannot commit to a specific request, they can recruit help by engaging other parents or guardians of the classroom to participate. Room Parents are not expected to be the go-to for all things school or parent-led.
Room Parents initiate check-ins with homeroom teacher 1x month and work together as needed to support our mission. Room Parents communicate with homeroom families via a chat group weekly or as needed to support our mission.
Note: CAB PTO can request support from Room Parents to spread the word about school functions, events, etc. but Room Parents are not required to attend or participate in PTO events/meetings.
